What's new with the dogs?

It's been a while since I've (Ashley, the Executive Director of BTFI) written a blog post. A lot has changed in the past year or so and so much has happened.

Our newest group of dogs have slowly but surely been getting adopted! We've got a few amazing doggies left that are looking for their forever homes and a few of them really need help from a professional. Twinkle is the sweetest girl and she's really shy. She hasn't been confident enough to respond well to training in the kennel environment so we're hoping to send her to a board and train at our dog trainer's house. This month long board and train program has proven to be highly successful with our other dogs and we believe that this is exactly what sweet Twinkle needs in order to gain the skills that will make her more adoptable.

Of course this specialized training costs money so we're going to be holding a fundraiser on September 25th from 6-8:00 pm at Jimmy Hula's in Melbourne, FL. Jimmy Hula's is going to donate 15% of the food sales during this time to us!

We'll also be having a raffle and silent auction. Every time we get something new donated I'll be doing a blog post so that everyone can keep track of all of the amazing items available!
